Crans-Montana: Ski World Cup Classic and World Championship Candidate
The world cup races in Crans-Montana may now be referred to as women’s classics since the International Ski Federation FIS has awarded an annual world cup event to the dynamic Organising Committee. The ultimate goal of Crans-Montana is to hold the FIS alpine ski world championships.
On the programme the annual Crans-Montana FIS World Cup races, a Ladies Classic, including a Downhill and an Alpine Combined with Downhill and Slalom. Only speed disciplines will take place on the Mont-Lachaux piste in the following years.
The World Cup races on the Mont Lachaux slope in Crans-Montana are some of the toughest on the ladies’ circuit. Besides the starting area, there are two key points where spectators on skis can watch the Super-G: “Le Trou du Renard” and the “Bosse du Président”. The best view of the spectacular slalom slope can be enjoyed from the sunny finish arena.
