Noisy hustle and bustle, colorfully disguised characters and exuberant atmosphere

On March 1st, children parade through the village with bells and colorfully decorated hats, driving away winter with singing, cracking whips and ringing bells.

The traditional Chalandamarz parade through Bever takes place on March 1st.

Chalandamarz goes back to the Roman calendar: «Chalanda» means «first day of the month» and «Marz» stands for the month of March.

On March 1, the children parade through the village with bells and colorfully decorated hats, chasing away the winter with singing, whip cracking and bell ringing.
