A dizzying observation platform has been built on the steep cliff next to the Wildstrubel Restaurant on the Gemmi Pass, the historic link between Leukerbad and Kandersteg. There may be no road, but the pass can be accessed by cable car or via a pleasant hiking trail.
The steel structure of the platform juts out nearly 10 meters above the steep rock face. A grid floor and a sloping glass wall separate you from the earth 300 meters below. You feel that you are hovering over the rock wall. If you venture out onto the platform, you will be rewarded with a unique wide and deep view of Leukerbad, spread out 900 meters below. The 20-square-metergallery can accommodate a little more than a dozen visitors. The easy but steep hike to the Gemmi Observation Platform takes two hours. It can be comfortably reached with the Gemmi Cable Car. You think you are floating above the rock face. If you dare to step onto the platform, you are rewarded by a unique view to Leukerbad 900 meters below.
The Gemmi Pass is an ideal location for an unconventional wedding at 2,350 metres above sea level, with fantastic views of the mountains, glaciers and lakes.
