Insert and stamp your card, then enjoy. Glarnerland invites you to try a hiking challenge on four mountain hut tours. Hikers with the stamp card will not only be rewarded with the sight of the impressive Glarus mountains, but can also expect free refreshments.
The crowning glory of every Alpine hike: the charming mountain huts and mountain inns. After a successful ascent, relax, enjoy the panorama and treat yourself to a thirst quencher — life doesn’t get any better than this. Glarnerland has several mountain huts waiting to be discovered. The “Glarnerland Hiking Cup Challenge” takes in four of them. The idea behind the challenge is quite simple: The stamp card can be ordered free of charge online and packed into the rucksack on the next hike. It can then be stamped at any of the four huts. Hikers can immediately claim complementary drink in return, whether a cool Adler beer from the region, a refreshing Elmer Citro or a mineral water. Once all four stamps have been collected, a finisher’s kit with the exclusive challenge cup awaits.
The four tours differ in length and difficulty. There is a suitable hike for every taste and level of fitness.
The beginners’ tour is an easy hike to Ortstockhaus. Listed as a historical monument, this mountain inn is located above Braunwald and can be reached from the car-free village in 1.5 to 2 hours. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can take the cable car and choose the approximately one-hour panoramic hike from the Grotzenbüel or Gumen mountain stations. Whichever route you choose, wonderful views of the Ortstock and the Tödi as well as the idyllic Linthal valley are guaranteed.
The three other tours in the Hiking Challenge are longer and somewhat more demanding. They lead to the Claridenhütte SAC, the Martinsmadhütte SAC and the Muttseehütte SAC.
