This adventurous treasure hunt lasts for an hour and takes you to eight stop-off points. Each one is located at an important sight in Lausanne and the puzzle you’ll find there refers directly to this sight. Treasure hunters hear playfully told stories and anecdotes.
Departing from the central railway station as the first stop-off point, treasure hunters can take in the first surprising story: in circa 1850, the central railway station was built on a flat plot of land (a rarity in Lausanne!) and was located slightly outside the city at the time. In those days, the city only began about 500m above and presided on three hills. The central railway station itself was located in the middle of the vineyards back then.
In the concourse of the central railway station (SBB, CFF, FFS), right next to the Lausanne Tourisme information centre, the treasure map route leads to the first stop-off point, where the first clue and puzzle to be solved awaits treasure hunters. The solution to the puzzle is usually right under your nose – so it’s worth taking a look around! Then follow the route on the treasure map and solve the further stop-off points with their puzzles and clues right through to the last one, where the treasure lies within walking distance.
