Intro

If you believe the locals, Le Mur Suisse is the steepest ski slope in the world. One thing is for certain: the one-kilometre track is legendary and poses a challenge, including for enthusiastic winter guests in the Portes du Soleil area.

Even the most hardened and acrobatic skiers will go weak at the knees here! The mountain drops away extremely steeply on the east side of the Chavanette Pass. The gradient here is up to 56%. Because of the extreme angle, the slope cannot be prepared with a snow groomer. The mogul slope is only suitable for highly experienced skiers or snowboarders. Once you’ve reached the bottom, you can settle your nerves with a drink at Buvette de Chavanette. The steepest ski slope in the world? Maybe – it’s certainly worth taking the trip to Champéry to find out.
