Enchanting trails through a vast forest form the core of the hike. Further down, the valley opens up and the Lorze runs in a large arc down to Lake Zug. About halfway, the bizarre rock formations of the Höllgrotten caves provide a unique change of perspective.
The hike through the gorge begins in Unterägeri and first winds its way along the main road to the Schmittli. From there, the route follows the hiking trail signposts for Baar. You follow the banks of the Lorze all the way to Lake Zug. The trail ends at Zug railway station after a meander through the picturesque old town.
