Alps Epic Trail Davos
Distance 39 km
Ascent 673 m
The Alps Epic Trail Davos leads from the Jakobshorn via Sertig Dörfli to Filisur. The Trail was given the IMBA Epic Trail designation in 2014, which promoted it to the ranks of the world's best mountainbike trails.
The cable car takes riders up to the Jakobshorn, where the tour begins. It leads to Sertig first. The path is easy to ride, but it does need your full concentration. Now the ride continues on the single trail, which is normally a downhill route, up to the Rinerhorn mountain station. From here riders follow the officially signposted route to Monstein.
The next single trail is reputed to be one of the most beautiful routes in the Davos region and mostly goes slightly downhill. After Monstein there’s a difficult ascent on a little mountain road, until the trail sets off for Jenisberg. This road is on a constant slight downhill, offers top-class fun and finally ends in the Zügen gorge.
The old road leads to Bärentritt, from where trails take riders to Wiesen railway station, on to Leidboden and finally along the Landwasser river to the famous Landwasser viaduct. From there it’s a winding ride up to Filisur railway station, where the Rhaetian Railway takes riders back to Davos.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
