Intro

Cherries are called “Chriesi” in the Canton of Aargau. Learn more about cherry growing from the 11 information boards along the 5km circular trail in the Frick Valley.

Description

The circular route takes you through low-stem plantations, as well as traditional, naturally managed high-stem orchards, which are home to numerous animals. The typical inhabitants include the rare redstart and the sand lizard.
In spring, the “white trees” are stunning and make for great photos. During the harvest season, hikers are allowed to pick and eat the cherries directly from the trees (from blue-marked trees). If you like them, you can buy more directly from the producer by the side of the trail.
