Intro
Illuminated nighttime cross-country ski trail in the valley below Filisur, the last Engadin village in the Albula valley. This easy circular route with gentle ups and downs lies between Rözenwald and the Albula.
Description
This over 1 km long circuit starts at the ice rink car park in Filisur. The trail has been groomed for both classic and skate skiers and does not present any special difficulties. Although it takes you across a field, this does not mean that it is consistently flat all the way.
The Rözenwald extends along the side of the mountain. Originally, the Rözen were actually «baths» in which flax and hemp were placed and stored before further processing. On the other side, the Albula flows towards Tiefencastel.
This trail is open all day. In the evening it is illuminated until 11 p.m. and makes for an extremely unique experience at night. The trail is an especially peaceful place to be on in the evening, being located as it is in the tranquil Albula Valley.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
