Percorso Campra–Dötra
Overview
Intro
A snowshoe trail for peace-seekers: After starting at Campra, the trail takes you through quiet pine forests up to Dötra. Alpine nature, charming stone houses and far-reaching views to the mountains of the Blenio Valley make the tour an enjoyable winter experience.
Description
The starting point of the trail is the large car park in Bollette area of the upper Blenio Valley, just before the winter destination of Campra. This location on the southern side of the Lukmanier Pass is mainly known for cross-country skiing, but you can also go on some wonderful snowshoe tours.
The trail to Dötra is mainly uphill. However, the difference in altitude isn’t too great, meaning it is also suitable for beginners. It goes through the heart of an enchanting pine forest and past small streams. The environment is characterised by Alpine scenery with superb forests. The isolated location means it’s extremely peaceful. It’s easy to fall completely for the landscape.
Once you leave the forest, you reach the village of Calzanígh. Here the view opens up to the mountains in the upper Blenio Valley and across the wide meadows of Dötra. This is the furthest point of the trail, which turns back here. The charming, picturesque Alpine village features typical stone houses. Here you can find the Capanna Dötra hut and a “grotto” (restaurant), the perfect spot to take a relaxing break and enjoy local products. You follow the same path back down to the starting point.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
