Val Terbi Bike
Overview
Intro
This relatively challenging route leads from the Delémont railway station around the Val Terbi, alternating between forest paths, typical small villages and magnificent vantage points with sweeping views over the valley.
Description
Starting at Delémont railway station, you leave the town through the Colliard nature reserve before gaining height at Courroux. The route continues on a trail along the forest edge, with beautiful views over the Val Terbi, to the small village of Montsevelier.
You then cross the village towards Mervelier. A small chapel between the two communities on the right offers unobstructed views of the valley in the background. In Mervelier, a small shop and a restaurant invite you to take a break before ascending on a little-used secondary road to Vermes. In this old village, you can discover the botanical trail, visit the 15th-century frescoes in the church or refuel in one of two restaurants.
From there, you ascend a steep slope of Mont Raimeux, passing by the impressive Château de Raimontpierre, to Rebeuvelier. The route continues on a forest path and descends to the plain of Bellevie. You cross the plain on a small road through the fields to Courroux and Delémont. After arriving in the cantonal capital, don't forget to visit the old town, lined with terraces, and the Jura Museum of Art and History.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
