All cycling routes in Lucerne

A perspiring uphill pedal, wonderful views of the Vierwaldstättersee and Rigi mountain. Küssnacht was a harbour town on the old Gotthard route. A winding, lake-panorama stretch leads to mild Gersau with palms and chestnut trees, and on to Brunnen.

Combining this escapade with a boat trip makes for a short yet spectacular loop on the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Baldeggersee represents an idyllic nature reserve with 300 plant species. Lake Hallwil, the smallest Swiss lake with public boat service and place to bathe. The route follows the Aabach to Lenzburg, with castle of the same name, which is considered one of Switzerland's most beautiful.

From the Reuss on the peaceful shores of the Baldeggerseee and Hallwilersee, passing moated Hallwil Castle and Lenzburg Castle, through water meadows along the Aare, over the Bözberg to the dinosaur skeletons in Fricktal and on to the Rhine.
