Intro
Traditional carrot market in Aarau
Every year on the first Wednesday in November, the traditional carrot market takes place in the old town of Aarau (mainly along the Graben street). In recent years, the market has also turned into a major economic and cultural highlight. From 8 a.m. on, the capital of the Canton Aargau is the undisputed carrot center of Switzerland, at least for one day. In other words, just like the onion market is indelibly associated with Bern, Aarau without the annual carrot market would be simply unimaginable.
Close to 140 vendors register for the carrot market every year, undeniable proof of how popular this event is, even with vendors from near and far.
