Round trip through quiet forests and open landscapes at the foot of Guscha summit. With numerous views to the impressive Churfirsten peaks and towards Flumserberg. On the way: Alp Wildenberg and the associated Stafel Gampergalt.
Description
This panoramic round tour starts directly at Berghotel Schönhalden on Flumser Kleinberg. On quiet soles you soon pass the stables of Alp Wildenberg below Guscha. On the 190 ha of pasture land, about 100 cows and young cattle are looked after in summer - now you can find silence and winter idyll on the other side of the busy Flumserberg ski area. And the view over Sarganserland - wonderful!
The trail climbs steadily and gently over open terrain until it finally reaches Alp Gampergalt. The alp building there belongs to Alp Wildenberg. The view over the Flumserberg mountains, the picturesque Schilstal valley to the west and the nearby Churfirsten mountains opens up again and again on the way. The jagged serrations, which dive almost vertically into Lake Walen in the south, seem majestic.
Then the tour is secluded and more or less flat when it leads over snowfields and sometimes through forests. When you reach Rosewald, you descend over snow-covered meadows. With magnificent views of the opposite Alvier mountain chain and into the valley, the starting point at Berghotel Schönhalden is reached. The gondola lift takes winter sports enthusiasts back down to Flums Saxli.
