Tales of Romans and the Habsburgs echo in the walls of Schlössli Altenburg. Brugg Youth Hostel is actually located within the walls of this little castle, offering visitors of all ages an abundance of historical treasures to explore and uncover. Brugg and its surroundings are steeped in history filled with adventure. This rich heritage is vividly showcased at the Vindonissapark Museum, the amphitheatre and Habsburg Castle. Brugg Youth Hostel itself is a real castle, where Romans and the Habsburg nobility once lived. You can even visit the “Ritterstube”, a room once inhabited by Habsburg knights. But the present day also has a lot to offer in Brugg. The lively old town is definitely worth a visit and there are also plenty of wonderful hiking and cycling tours to enjoy.
