AUTUMN TIME IS CHÄSMÄRT TIME

When the leaves of the trees turn golden, the snowy air perhaps already tickles the nose, and then the day still becomes late summer warm, then it is Chäsmärt time. This year, on October 1, 2023, it will take place again. For the third time in the village of Elm, in the streets and alleys of the village that was awarded the Wakkerpreis in 1981.

The alpine dairymen and women present their Glarus alpine cheese at dozens of stands, from each alp it tastes slightly different. And soon you can taste the differences and your favorite cheese is chosen. In addition to the Glarus alp cheese, there are also various other types of alp cheese such as Nidelchäs, Chrüter alp cheese etc.

The shopping bags are filled and the supporting program around the Chäsmärt can be enjoyed. The Schellner march in and fill the village with impressive ringing, and later the bells of the decorated cows sound as they parade through the village.
