街を中心にある円形の城は1377年から街を守ってきた城砦の一部。円形の城は、1527年にアルブレヒト・デューラーが発表した論文に基づいて1563〜85年に造られました。1799年オーストリアとフランスの戦いの時に破壊されましたが再建。美しいブドウ畑に囲まれた城壁の中はイベントなどが開催される市民の憩いの広場になっています。

Hohenklingen Castle has been towering above the charming town of Stein am Rhein since the year 1200. The renovated castle attracts visitors interested in history as well as connoisseurs.

The Apple Trail and a walking route through the village attest the longstanding importance of fruit-growing in Altnau's agriculture. 24 information panels with puzzles, jokes and questions about apple varieties impart valuable knowledge about the apple-growing region and the rosy-skinned fruit itself. Visitors will also meet Fredi, Lisi and Emma – three appealing apple mascots.

This is a dam made of debris from prehistoric landslides that separates the Klöntal and Linthtal valleys.

The beginners and children’s fixed-rope route is located at an elevation of 1900 meters above sea level, behind the mountain inn of Gumen. Children that dare to climb a bit higher have the opportunity to gain experiences on the mountain.

中世ヨーロッパで「知の聖地」として名を轟かせた修道院。現在では宗教的な意味での修道院ではなくなりましたが、18世紀に改装された修道院の大聖堂、付属図書館、最古ともいわれる建築設計図などが高く評価され、1983年に世界文化遺産に認定されました。

グラールス谷の裏手、その独特な地形から世界遺産に認定されている「スイス・テクトニック・アリーナ・サルドーナ」を含む広大な自然公園ジオパークの敷地内にある人気の観光名所です。周辺の山々から流れ出る水が轟音をたてて落ちてくる様子を間近で体験できるのも魅力。大自然が生み出した造形美、スイス屈指の美しい滝ともいわれています。

Drei Weieren (Three Ponds) are an oasis of peace in the middle of the city. The ponds, which were originally built by the monastery for their water needs with their art nouveau bath houses, are a popular destination for outings and as swimming spot.
