Sniffing out good food in Zurich: The city’s foodie scene has been shaped by a number of well-known restaurants over the decades.
Along with seeing the most important sights, no city break is complete without sampling the best local food. Every visitor to Zurich should visit at least one of the following restaurants!
- Hiltl: Opened back in 1898, the first vegetarian restaurant in the whole of Europe now enjoys cult status.
- Kronenhalle: Exquisite cuisine served against a backdrop of original works of art by Picasso, Giacometti and Chagall.
- Oepfelchammer: Hearty Swiss food served in Zurich’s oldest wine bar.
- Sternen Grill: The city’s best sausages served with the strongest mustard – street food Zurich style!
- Zeughauskeller: The weapons in this former armoury now hang on the wall for decorative purposes only.
