Winterland 2025/26

In Winterland, the enchantment of winter invades Locarno between 21 November 2024 and 6 January 2025 with exciting experiences and activities for all tastes: ice rink, slide, carousel, concerts, Christmas market and gastronomic offers. All this is made even more extraordinary by an audiovisual show projected onto the picturesque facades of Piazza Grande. A winter world of fun and magic awaits you under the stars.

Activities:

Audiovisual show: The Piazza Grande is transformed into an open-air stage where the magical fairy tale "A hug of stars" (un abbraccio di stelle) is brought to life in a unique audiovisual show. The story is projected onto the Locarno Town Hall (Palazzo del Municipio) every hour from 5.30 pm during Winterland.

Ice skating: What would Christmas be without an ice rink? Admission is free for everyone and, if required, skates and equipment can be hired on site for CHF 5.

Kamikice: The brave can hurtle down the spiral slide on an oval raft. Adrenaline and fun for the whole family. One run cost CHF 5.

Carousel: The majestic double decker carousel, made entirely by hand, evokes the charm of the Christmas tradition. It offers young and old a unique and timeless experience. A ride costs CHF 5.

Christmas market: It's impossible to resist the offerings at the Christmas market. As you stroll between the little wooden huts, you will be fascinated by handicrafts, Christmas decorations, culinary specialities and much more. This is the ideal place to find gifts for your loved ones or to treat yourself.

Concerts: Winterland hosts free concerts with internationally renowned artists and talented local bands. The concerts take place in a transparent pavilion, which offers a unique and weather-independentexperience.

Gastronomy:Winterland offers a wide range of culinary delights. There are several food stands with culinary offerings ranging from burgers to Thai or winter specialties such as crêpes and raclette. There are also various bars where you can enjoy a mulled wine or an aperitif with friends. Don't miss the signature cocktails. Visitors can also indulge themselves in two pop-up restaurants, including an atmospheric igloo for an evening of fondue chinoise and an authentic chalet serving traditional cheese fondue.
