With no road connection open in the winter months, reaching Alp Flix is an adventure in itself. Snowmobiles escort guests from Sur to the 'yurt village'. Far from civilisation, a short snowshoe hike is rewarded by raclette or fondue in a warm hut. A fire blazes inside the yurt to ensure pleasant temperatures at night. Next day, this experience of age-old nature ends with a bracing sled ride back to the valley.
