Salt has been mined in Riburg near Rheinfelden since 1848, and is stored in two awe-inspiring domed structures, known as the Saldomes. This exciting tour takes you through the historic drilling sheds, where you can see the piston pump at work, experience the deafening screeching noises from the rotary drilling platform, and admire the salt in all its pristine glory. The tour is bound to open your eyes about salt, whether you use it to season your eggs, add minerals to your bath, or to combat black ice.
