Das Aargauer Kunsthaus hat noch zu Lebzeiten der Künstlerin Werke gesammelt und widmet ihr einen Sammlungsfokus.
Die kleinen Formate der Aargauer Künstlerin Gabi Fuhrimann (1958–2021) laden ein, sie aus der Nähe zu betrachten. Die meist quadratischen, geometrisch gebauten Gemälde sind wie ein Mosaik angelegt. Oft steht als Motiv eine Frau im Zentrum. Der Körper verschwindet dabei fast im Farbengefüge – aber eben nicht ganz. Unsere Nähe zum Bild schafft eine intime Betrachtung, wie bei einem Andachtsbild, bei der wir die Figur beim Lesen, Tanzen, die Arme-Ausbreiten sehen. Jede von uns könnte diese Frau sein: So wird das Bild auch zu einer Projektionsfläche oder sogar zu einem Spiegel.
