Description
Ambience:
The sun terrace (70 seats) or the fireplace-heated restaurant (50 seats) will warm your heart. From Walser German to elegant English, a lot of languages can be heard here. Guests are cheerful, the atmosphere is informal and the unpretentious cosy hut buzzes on rainy days as much as on sunny days.
Location:
Located at an altitude of 2,000 metres, a bit off the ski slope or the hiking trails from Spielboden to Saas-Fee. The Gletschergrotte is the last mountain restaurant before the alpine village.
Cuisine:
Typical delicacies from the Valais, from dried meat platters, Rösti with ham and fried egg to a variety of cheese fondues as well as the special “Grottuspiessli”; furthermore, a choice of salads, apple strudel, fruit cakes and custard cream cake.
