Stall 247 in Maienfeld offers a unique gastronomic experience based around the themes of wine and cookery.

The Stafelalp’s wooden terrace is a place where you could sit all day long. On snowy days, the inside of the restaurant, flooded with light, and the see-through fireplace in the middle of the room put the many regular visitors in a jovial mood.

Some mountain restaurants are worth a visit because of the views, others because of their food. The Al Bosco, which is part of the Riffelalp Resort and situated opposite the luxury hotel, scores on both counts.

Built in 1885 and located at an altitude of 3,030 metres, this mountain hut is a lot simpler than the other Zermatt mountain restaurants presented here. The Gandegghütte, however, portrays better than any other hut the high Alpine and down-to-earth atmosphere of Zermatt.

Stéphane Décotterd of Fribourg took charge of the well-known restaurant “Le Pont de Brent” five years ago. Since then, things have only got better for the noble house with its bright yellow façade. The chef delights critics and guests alike with his playful ideas, implemented with a precise sense of taste and a steady hand.

Ideal before and after the mountain experience. In 45 minutes the restaurant turns around its own axis, passing over 200 mountain peaks. The restaurant is served and offers a wide range of dishes from snacks to regional dishes.

In summer, the lower part of the hut hosts its own Alpine dairy. In winter, the upper part is a cosy mountain restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere created by the committed host families Schild and van Bergen as well as the cheerful snow sports enthusiasts.
