Introduction

The Lorze Industrial Trail Association showcases industrial culture by means of information panels along the river Lorze and in the town of Zug, as well as through books, films, guided tours and excursions.

An online platform is available at www.industriepfad-lorze.ch with various documents and publications on the industrial history of Zug.

The Zug Industrial Objects Collection in Neuheim comprises what is probably the world’s largest collection of electrical equipment relating to energy measurement and metering. The inventory includes the product collection from Landis & Gyr, together with equipment from other well-known manufacturers.

Established in 1994, the Lorze Industrial Trail Association sees itself as a hub of industrial history in the canton of Zug. Ever since the beginnings of industrialisation in the first half of the 19th century, Zug has been the most industrialised canton in central Switzerland. The canton’s industrial heritage is reflected in various examples of architecture and infrastructure, archival and photographic collections.
