Intro

Alpe San Romerio is situated on a natural, beautiful slope terrace with views of the entire Val Poschiavo. The venerable 11th century church makes San Romerio a magical high-energy place.

Description

The heart of the Alp is the lovingly built mountain hut of wood and stone, which is an invitation to spend a charming night in a place to linger. The generous sunny terrace with a playground is a perfect place to rest and enjoy and to revitalize and reenergize.
The small romantic church of Sam Romerio is protected as a historic building. It was first mentioned in 1055, because it is located on an important mule track, directly above Lago di Poschiavo, at 1800 meters. The key to visit the church and to ring the bells can be picked up in the Ristoro San Romerio.

Alpe San Romerio is the ideal starting point for (multi-day) mountain hikes on old smugglers' trails (Via Alpina, Via Valtellina) and a variety of mountain bike tours. But it is also conveniently reached by foot on well-developed roads from Viano or Piaz.
The Alp is well worth a brief visit – for a cup of coffee or for polenta from the restaurant, or to spend an unforgettable night in the infinite peace of San Romerio.
