A monument to cheese: more than 3,000 wheels, including historic rarities, have been gathered here at the Gstaad cheese grotto.
The display, covering several storeys of a structure that extends for 25 m underground, is impressive and evocatively lit. A tour tells the story of cheese, from grass to gourmet palates.Descending a steep flight of wooden steps to the former community water reservoir, visitors gain insight into Berne’s AOC-certified Hobelkäse cheese speciality and production methods.
