The Trümmelbach Falls at a glance

The special thing about the Trümmelbach Falls: They lie deep in the mountain – where the Trümmelbach has made its way through the rock over thousands of years. The ten waterfalls can be discovered via secured paths. Tickets are available on site. For safety reasons, dogs and children under the age of four are not allowed.

What to experience

Discover the Trümmelbach Falls (1–2 hours)

Stairs or a tunnel lift take you to the inside of the mountain. Here, up to 20,000 litres of glacier water per second thunder past you. You hear the roar, feel the drizzle and marvel at the tremendous power of the Trümmelbach. At each of the ten mighty waterfalls there is a platform with information boards.

  • Good to know: Wear sturdy shoes, it can be wet and slippery on the paths.
  • Tip: The best time to visit is during the snowmelt in spring or summer.

Hike from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg (2 hours)

Hike from Lauterbrunnen along the river Lütschine to the Trümmelbach Falls in Stechelberg. Along the way, marvel at the steep rock faces with waterfalls such as the 297-meter-high Staubbach Falls. Once you arrive at the Trümmelbach Falls, it's best to take the tunnel lift and experience the water spectacle as you walk down.

  • Good to know: In front of the Trümmelbach Falls there is a nice picnic area with a fireplace.
  • Tip: In early summer, the hike through the flowering meadows is particularly beautiful.
