Intro

The Eggahus in Innerarosa is the oldest house in the village. From the outside it is an architectural jewel, while inside, it is a treasure chamber full of stories: The local history museum is housed in this former meeting hall.

In the last 120 years, Arosa, the erstwhile sleepy mountain village, has been transformed into a world-famous tourism destination. At the local history museum, visitors discover what living at 1,775 meters above sea level felt like in the past. The museum is housed in the oldest and –in the opinion of many locals – the most beautiful house in the Schanfigg community. .

It is assumed that in the olden days the “Eggahus” was a meeting place. Today you can experience Arosa’s history at every turn here. Each room is dedicated to a different theme. Farming implements tell the story of daily life in bygone times. A room full of musical instruments suggests that the locals knew how to have fun. The sports department shows how skiing has changed in the last few years.
