Hopping across to the other shore, the Hammetschwand lift, Europe’s highest outdoor lift, rises in less than a minute to Bürgenstock. A narrow stretch of the lake opens up to reveal dreamy panoramas. With the wind in your hair, you can take the car ferry from the canton of Schwyz and arrive in Nidwalden 20 minutes later.
