An extensive network of trails in the valley and on the snow-sure high plateau welcome cross-country skiing enthusiasts at 2000-meter altitude in Adelboden.
Several easy to relatively difficult trails, as well as a night trail, are discovered amid the pristine nature surrounding the "Boden" cross-country skiing center just outside the village. A must for all cross-country fans is the Engstligenalp at 2000 m altitude, which is one of the Switzerland’s largest plateaus in the Alps. A cable railway takes you from Adelboden straight to the highland trails, passing through some amazing high-Alpine scenes on your way up.
