Sentiero Lago di Lugano
Overview
Intro
The hike from Monte San Salvatore to Vico Morcote is a classic for the whole family. Always slightly downhill, woodlands alternating with well-kept villages, pretty grotti and scenic views.
Description
From the summit, this route will take you to the village of Carona, where you can visit Parco San Grato botanical garden. You will then have two options: the first, is to go up to Alpe Vicania, the second is to go via Torello. The first route is the more difficult one, but it will take you to the domain of Castello di Morcote, where a breath-taking panorama awaits. The second route is easier and it will enable you to visit the Sanctuary of Madonna d’Ongero. Both itineraries will lead you to the town of Morcote, before taking you back to Lugano by boat.
