Valorsch-Tour
Overview
Intro
This medium/difficult bike tour takes you through the romantic Valorschtal valley around Schönberg, to the Liechtenstein mountain village of Malbun. This village is located at 1,600 meters above sea level, and was already one of the stages on the Tour de Suisse.
Description
Three mountain streams provide a framework for the Valorsch tour. From the Walser cottage settlement of Steg the route leads through hilly terrain to the north and follows the Saminabach (creek) before it takes a southeasterly direction towards the Valorschbach (creek) to Güschglehötta (hut). Here the gravel road ends and it will be necessary to push your bike uphill on the path for about 20 minutes to reach the next gravel road. From there it's only a few minutes more to reach the highest point of the tour, Sassförkle. The descending road takes you to Malbun then along the Malbunbach (creek) in a westerly direction back to the starting point in Steg.
Tip: Very well-trained cyclists have the possibility to start their bike tour in the valley and first do the Vaduz to Triesenberg tour up to Steg and then tackle the Valorsch tour.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
