A touch of freedom.
Intro
“The Les Mottes holiday home is far off the beaten track but still offers every comfort that large families or groups could wish for.” Réjane Gerber knows what she’s talking about. She has been a regular visitor here for many years. She even got married in the chapel next door 20 years ago.
Montfaucon
The house is situated in Montfaucon in the Franches-Montagnes region between Tramelan and Saignelégier. It can be found on an elevated plateau, gently nestled in the Jura forest pasture landscape, and is the perfect place for outdoor holidays and relaxation. In summer, visitors can choose between hikes, biking or riding tours and covered wagon rides, and in winter, they can try snowshoe hikes, cross-country skiing or dog sledding.
Let the celebrations begin.
Four reasons to celebrate for the Gerber family.
The house can accommodate around 50 people, making it the ideal place for a holiday camp or a family reunion. “Especially when the party lasts late into the night,” jokes Réjane Gerber, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday here. After all, apart from a few horses or foxes there is no one who could be disturbed for miles around. The unique location – away from it all and yet easily accessible – made the choice an easy one for the Gerber family: they decided on the Les Mottes holiday home as a venue at which to celebrate four birthdays all at once. As well as Réjane, her husband Aurèle also turned 40, her daughter celebrated her 20th birthday, and the grandfather his 80th birthday.
A celebration for the Gerber family
The party is in full swing. Grandparents play with their grandchildren. In the garden the guests indulge their love of music, with the choir setting the pace. In the festival tents, guests raise their glasses in a toast to the birthday boys and girls. Paella bubbles away in the summer house. In the playroom the children battle it out at the ping pong table and in the lounge the youngsters rock out to their favourite tracks. You can’t help but think: “This is what happiness looks like.”

Spacious grounds
Outside, there is a huge forecourt and a playing field that extends as far as the Jura pastures. A natural stone wall separates the playing children from the peacefully grazing horses and cows. Behind the house, a firepit made of Jura limestone and surrounded by wooden benches invites you to enjoy barbecue evenings and enlightening conversations under a clear, starry night sky.
