Intro

Fünf ikonische Grossplastiken des Künstlerduos erscheinen als fotografische Echos am Bodenseeufer. Zwischen Bewegung und Stillstand entsteht ein neuer Blick auf Raum, Material und Kontext.

Seit über 25 Jahren besetzt das Duo Bildstein | Glatz den öffentlichen Raum mit einer Radikalität, die sich jeder dekorativen Gefälligkeit entzieht. Ihre Konstruktionen sind architektonische Eingriffe, die das Verhältnis von Mensch, Material und Umgebung konfrontativ neu verhandeln. Aus Stahl, Aluminium und Holz entstehen Monumente der Dynamik – erstarrte Augenblicke extremer Bewegung zwischen Looping und radikalem Schnitt.

Bei den «billboards am see» reduziert sich diese raumgreifende Wucht auf die Fläche. Die Fotografien von fünf Projekten des Duos fungieren als visuelles Surrogat: Sie dokumentieren die ursprüngliche Provokation und lassen ihr Echo am Bodenseeufer nachhallen. Es ist eine Art visuelle Matruschka: Auf den Billboards leben die Grossplastiken, eingebettet in ihre originale Landschaft, in einem veränderten Kontext nochmals im öffentlichen Raum auf.
