Intro

A l’orée des années 1980, la photographe Dany Gignoux (1944-2025) et le poète Georges Haldas (1917-2010) ont saisi la vie des cafés genevois.

«Prose inspirée» pour Haldas nourrie par la mémoire, reportage sur le vif pour Gignoux, la «chronique» des bistrots par son attention au quotidien, aux gens de peu, ne fait pas que documenter le réel. Elle révèle une émotion poétique, véritable transfiguration du réel, faite de sensations et sentiments nés du regard, à rebours de la marche d’une société dominée par les rapports de pouvoir et d’argent. Une exposition pour découvrir dans un face à face inédit, deux belles figures de la culture genevoise en prise avec leur époque, dont les archives sont aujourd’hui conservées par la Bibliothèque de Genève.
