The traditional Wiler Fastnacht starts on Wednesday and ends on Sunday with the big carnival parade through the town. Children's masked ball, court jester's ball, monster concert & endless parties.

Colorful hustle and bustle in the village of Appenzell... The parade starts at 2 pm.

The Goofen pull the Bloch tribe from Urnäsch via Waldstatt, Schönengrund, Bächli and Satledi-Schönau back to Urnäsch.

The carnival parade on Sunday in Wil attracts ca. 20,000 visitors! Around 50 groups parade through the town, followed by the spectacular burning of the Nörgeli or fairy-tale figure. A real highlight!

The Bloch is a peculiar carnival custom. In a procession, a tree trunk, expertly tied to a wreathed cart, is pulled through several villages.

Die Funkengemeinschaft Vaduz ist für den traditionellen Brauch des "Funknens" in Vaduz seit beinahe 65 Jahren verantwortlich.

The boys of Hundwil parade their Bloch through the villages every year on the actual Bloch Monday, the Monday after Ash Wednesday.

Every third Sunday before Easter, large bonfires are piled up and lit in Appenzell and various villages around the canton's capital to drive away the winter.
