Intro

An autumn adventure for the whole family. The squirrels need your help!

As winter approaches, the squirrels at Vullierens Castle are busy preparing their big autumn feast.

But disaster has struck: the nuts they had carefully stashed away have vanished from the gardens!

Children aged 4 to 12 then become apprentice squirrels. Armed with their satchels, they set off in search of the precious provisions along a fun, nature-filled and sensory trail. To complete their mission, they’ll need to use their powers of observation, agility and creativity.

Get ready for the adventure by making your own bag at home before your visit—choose your favorite from our selection.

A four-stage trail:

1\. Awaken your senses

2\. Testing your agility

3\. Letting your creativity run wild

4\. Rolling the nuts

A homemade reward Once all the stages have been completed, the mission is accomplished! Each apprentice squirrel’s bag then holds one final tasty surprise: the ‘Festin des Écureuils’ biscuit, a homemade walnut biscuit specially prepared for the occasion.

Come dressed in the colours of the forest To really immerse themselves in the world of the Squirrel Feast, children are invited to come in fancy dress. A cape, animal ears or an outfit in shades of brown or forest green will help them blend into the foliage and look just like the estate’s wild inhabitants.

A grand parade of forest animals will be held in the gardens. Little squirrels, foxes, hedgehogs and other autumnal creatures are all welcome! Fancy dress is recommended, but not compulsory to take part. Bonus perks: face painting and a horse-drawn carriage ride.

📍 Information: Suitable for children aged 4 to 12; admission charged from age 4. All children wishing to take part (even those under 4) must have a ticket (prizes are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis).

⛈️ Weather Guarantee: The tour takes place outdoors. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather. Tickets not used due to bad weather remain valid for a single entry to the gardens in 2027 (excluding events). 🍽️ Catering: Café des Jardins, local speciality platters, soup and a picnic area.

🎟️ Tickets: Free for children under 3 (registration required) / Children aged 4–16: CHF 5.– / Students: CHF 10.– / Adults: CHF 15.– / OAPs: CHF 12.– Accompanying adults must also have a ticket. Only children who complete the trail will receive a prize. 💡 Tip: The number of little squirrels who can take part is limited. Booking your tickets online is essential to guarantee your place at the big autumn feast – for the whole family!
