The Aflaj of the Sultanate of Oman

WATER PATHS – THE AFLAJ OF THE SULTANATE OF OMAN @ MUSÉE VALAISAN DES BISSESMusée valaisan des Bisses, AyentVernissage : dimanche 31 mai 2026, 11hÀ première vue, tout oppose les Alpes valaisannes aux paysages arides d’Oman. Pourtant, un même fil les relie : l’eau.L’exposition met en dialogue les bisses et les aflaj d’Oman, parmi les plus anciens systèmes d’irrigation encore en activité, inscrits au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO. Elle révèle comment, dans ces territoires exigeants, les sociétés ont su capter, guider et partager l’eau avec une remarquable ingéniosité.Au-delà de la technique, ces réseaux racontent des cultures où l’eau structure la vie collective, les usages et les paysages. À travers objets, archives, films et dispositifs interactifs, le public découvre un savoir-faire commun, né de la nécessité et porté par le collectif.Entre immersion, ateliers participatifs et regard contemporain, l’exposition invite à repenser notre relation à l’eau — comme une ressource à préserver, mais aussi comme un lien à cultiver.
