Rheinfelden, the city of indulgence
Overview
Intro
Culinary delights, culture and beer all come together in the small city of Rheinfelden on the Upper Rhine in Aargau. Where a small medieval old town, the oldest Zähringer town in Switzerland, invites you to take a stroll. On leaving the town, one building in particular catches the eye: that of the Feldschlösschen brewery. It is the leading brewery in Switzerland and produces excellent beer.
Guided tour: BierBeizenBummel
In Rheinfelden, city tours can have a somewhat different flavour than usual: like the ‟BierBeizenBummel” tour, on which you gain fascinating insights into the history and culture of beer and Rheinfelden from a city guide. While the audience listens to an exciting story, the palate is treated to gastronomic delights, as the tour includes an aperitif, starter, main course and dessert in three different restaurants, including a suitable beer to accompany the meal.
BeerWellness
Wellness fans also get their money’s worth when it comes to beer: The BeerWellness offering brings together gastronomy, mind, body and soul. This is because, after a relaxing day spent in the brine bath EDEN, you can enjoy a 4-course menu with beer in the Feldschlösschen restaurant. The kitchen offers classics such as schnitzel and fries or sausage and cheese salad, but also seasonal meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Brauwelt Feldschlösschen
Switzerland’s leading brewery Feldschlösschen is a real treat for beer fans, since the beer castle stands for tradition and innovation. Various themed tours of the world of brewing are offered. In addition to the various brewery tours, visitors can sample up to 20 different beers in the new visitor centre. If you still havenʼt found your favourite beer after this tasting session, you can take a brewing course at the brewery and make your own.
E-scooter tour to the brewery
Guests who want to combine a trip to Rheinfelden with a fun activity have come to just the right place with a guided e-scooter tour. The tour leads to the sites of beer tradition such as the Schalanderplatz in front of the brewery and teaches guests about the region’s beer history. And for those who have worked up a sweat despite the electric motor, we recommend a cold beer to round off the tour.
