Percorso Dalpe
Overview
Intro
One of the prettiest routes in the Leventina. Surrounded by larch forest, it leads through the enchanting Boscobello and into the Val Piumogna, which is crossed by the river of the same name.
Description
Dalpe is a sunny village in the upper part of the Leventina valley. It is located on a plateau at the entrance to the Val Piumogna. The route starts in the centre of the village near the small grocery shop. After crossing the village, it makes a large bend and reaches Boscobello. Here you are surrounded by a forest of majestic, slender larches.
You continue in the direction of Piumogna by following the river of the same name. The valley is flanked by high mountains, including Pizzo Penca and Pizzo Forno. With the latter in view, you hike through open terrain. After some alpine settlements and before reaching Alpe di Géra, the trail changes to the opposite side of the river.
The path turns on the other side of the Piumogna. It continues for a little over a kilometre in the woods along the river and then descends to Vallascia. When you reach the road, turn left. From here it is not far back to Dalpe.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
