Description
Training during cross-country skiing not only the fitness, but enjoying at the same time also the view and exciting background information? This is possible on the panoramic trail in Scherb between Hemberg and Ebnat-Kappel. On eight boards the unique views to Churfirsten, Alpstein, Neckertal, Chrüzegg, Stockberg, Speer und into the direction of Lake Zurich are described in detail with historical, geographical and further information. Additionally all boards offer a children’s tale. The tale of “Heinzelmännchen Speerli” is consecutively written over all eight boards.
The route starts at Scherbhütte and leads along the mentioned viewpoints to Salomonstempel. On this hill the cross-country skiers enjoy the wonderful panorama of Alpstein with Säntis. Over some gentle climbs and descents, follow the loop towards Hemberg, before the trail leads through forest passages and clearings back to the viewpoint at Scherbhütte.
Before the incline to Salomonstempel a shortcut can be taken, which shortens the trail length to 3.5 kilometres.
