Switzerland Tourism (Morgartenstrasse 5a, 8004 Zurich, Switzerland), an Institute of Swiss Public Law (CHE-108.956.138), operates the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland Mobile App and is therefore responsible for the collection, processing and use of your personal data and the compliance of the said data processing with Swiss law.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last updated” date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Application after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which you install the Application or make payments, including any in-game virtual items, which may also collect and use data about you. We are not responsible for any of the data collected by any such third party.

Geo-Location Information

This Application uses your geographic location (continuous) during a trip to:

  • display system notifications if your are near any highlight
  • confirm your position to unlock highlights

If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings. If we don’t have your location and your push notifications are off, you might miss some highlights on the train route and you won’t get any awards. We do not store your location at any time.

Push Notifications

We may also partner with selected third-party vendors, such as Firbase Analytics to allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on the Application through the use of first party cookies and third-party cookies, to, among other things, analyze and track users’ use of the Application, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand online activity. By accessing the Application, you consent to the collection and use of your information by these third-party vendors. You are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions. In-App Messaging and Analytics with Braze

We use the Software Braze (Braze Inc.) to display personalized in-app messages, such as prompts to subscribe to our newsletter. If you enter your email address and confirm the subscription, your data will be stored in Braze and processed according to applicable data protection regulations. Braze collects usage events (e.g., Application opens; Application updates; device information; geography/region; launches; number of sessions; number of Users; operating systems; session duration) to trigger in-app messages and analyze and track users’ use of the Application. These events may be tracked anonymously or, if identifiable information such as an email address is provided, on a personally identifiable basis.
