Intro
Although Winterthur is also referred to as the Eulachstadt, little can be seen of the city's stream. For the most part the Eulach stream was banished underground - this is exactly where our tour takes you. Does our drinking water also come from the Eulach? Here you will find out.
Armed with the right shoes and a flashlight, we make our way. The roaring tunnel takes us 700 metres directly below Winterthur Station. If you listen carefully you will hear the echoing of the trains arriving at the station. When we finally get back to the daylight, we will tell you why rats are so welcome in the sewers, and also where the city’s most impressive fountains are. When the tour is over, you will be dying for a satisfying drink of Winterthur water…
