For the second special exhibition to mark the '100 years of the Bönigen Women's Association' anniversary - entitled 'Bönigen and other women's history(ies)' - we went in search of clues. We immersed ourselves in the early history of the village and the 'everyday world of Bönigen' in the 19th and first half of the 20th century. We combed through archives and newspapers and attempted to trace a short women's history - or the history of individual female personalities - from the 'material' we unearthed. It would have gone beyond the scope of the exhibition to make references to women's history in general and to Swiss women's history in particular. As it is, the 'drawing' remains sketchy.
