The former mundane Gobeli ski hut was transformed into today’s country-style boutique hotel, homely but modern, featuring original home accessories and a bit of vintage. The atmosphere in the restaurant, the lounge with open fire and on the sun terrace with sheepskin covers and radiant heaters is sophisticated but not arrogant.

Ambience:
Being at the Hamilton Lodge puts you in a good mood. A night in one of the 23 charming rooms feels like an overnight stay at your friends’ tastefully decorated house, plus guests may also use the natural wellness area with Jacuzzi. The Dutch host couple, John and Jacqueline Wegink, adapt to their guests’ individual pace and ensure that they forget the day’s troubles.
Location:
At 1,450 metres beside the Eggweid middle station of the Zweisimmen-Rinderberg gondola, directly at the ski slope and the winter hiking trail. From the Eggweid middle station on the Rinderberg, you can speed down the toboggan track to the valley.
Cuisine:
Regional and international cuisine with seasonal, often organic ingredients at a reasonable price: creamy pumpkin soup, cheese and dried meat platters, a choice of sandwiches, green salad with goat’s cheese, beef carpaccio with arugula and “Hobel” cheese, vitello tonnato, Alpine macaroni with apple puree, Zurich-style veal strips with Rösti, half a chicken with chips and a salad, linguine pasta with giant crevettes and cherry tomatoes, risotto with pesto and courgettes, Hamilton Burger with chips, cheese fondue; and for dessert, apricot cake or warm fruit of the forest with vanilla ice-cream and meringue.
