Intro
One of the main highlights of the Jura region is the natural rock cirque Creux du Van, the largest nature reserve in the Canton of Neuchâtel. This e-bike tour takes you right up to this natural wonder.
Description
The tour starts at the historical railway station in Noraigue. Now you get to experience the sunny side of cycling: sit on the bike, step on the pedals and off you go for a short trip along the River Areuse through the Val de Travers. The incline up to the Creux du Van is easy pedalling thanks to the boost of the electromotor. Around 300 m from Creux du Van, park your e-bike at the restaurant Le Soliat and continue the rest of the way on foot.
The view from Creux du Van, where the gentle Jura landscape suddenly falls away down vertical cliffs, is nothing short of breathtaking: a spectacular, naturally formed rock amphitheatre. Encompassing 15.5 square kilometres of area and offering superb views of Lake Neuenburg, this is the largest natural reserve in the Canton of Neuchâtel. After a reviving snack, enjoy a relaxed cycle through the tranquil landscape via Couvet back to the starting point in Noiraigue.
