One autumn morning in 1975, 90% of Icelandic women refused to go to work, take care of their children, or perform household chores. Within hours, the entire country came to a standstill. This unprecedented strike played a decisive role in the advancement of women’s rights, helping to make Iceland a global leader in gender equality.Told for the first time by the women themselves and with great humor, the film showcases the power of collective action as a tool for social transformation. A subversive story that makes for an inspiring film! Featuring guests specializing in the topic.
