Intro

The 4.5 hour hike to Piz Mundaun involves a total ascent of 800 metres. At 2,000 metres above sea level there is a view from the Bernese Oberland and Chur to the Austrian Alps in the distance.

Guide Marianne Herrmann will lead the walk on the spiral trail to Piz Mundaun. This hike is characterised by a varied route and fantastic views. A forest and meadow trail leads from Surcuolm to the Bündner Rigi Inn, where you can stop for coffee. The way to the “Val Lumnezia” passes the lookout point of S. Carli. As you gaze into the Valley of Light you’ll understand how it got its name. The last stage just before the peak takes you across the Fantanuglias. Once at the top, a visit to the Piz Mundaun platform, the highest point on the hike, is a must. You can take a chairlift if you want to cut the hike by an hour.
